Barani School & Village

Doing What’s Needed

Barani Primary School in Kenya is a true beacon of hope, thanks to BBK and our dedicated teacher, Betty. Over 350 children now have brand new uniforms, which make them feel proud and smart, helping them focus better on their studies. We've also built new toilets with running water, which has made the school cleaner and much healthier for everyone.

One of our biggest successes has been tackling period poverty. We've provided sanitary pads to many girls, making sure they don't have to miss school during their periods. Betty has been a superstar, teaching the girls how to use reusable pads and promoting good hygiene practices.

But it doesn't stop there. Betty has also helped us provide essential items like food, clothes, shoes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and school supplies to the children who need them most. She's even organized medical care for those who couldn't afford it, making sure everyone gets the treatment they need.

Our volunteer Caroline also played a key role by distributing sanitary parcels and teaching the kids about personal hygiene through a video link. We aim to continue this support and encourage the local production of reusable sanitary wear in the future.

We can't thank Betty enough for her incredible work and dedication. Her efforts have made a real difference in the lives of the children and families in Barani Village, helping to build a brighter future for everyone. Let's keep making a difference together!
